Bette’s Testimonial
Last year I photographed the wedding of Bette and Leo at the MGM Grand. Bette checked in with me recently to see how I was doing. She also offered to write me a testimonial, so I took her up on the offer. Here’s what she had to say:
My husband and I wanted our wedding day to be perfect, doesn’t everyone? We decided that 07-07-07 at 7:07 p.m. in Las Vegas was the day, time and place to “tie the knot” after 7 years of engagement. Now all we had to do was make all the arrangements – doesn’t sound too hard, does it? The biggest challenge was we live on the East Coast and would have to make all of our wedding plans via the internet. Picking out a photographer was one of the most important tasks, as it provides you with lifelong memories in photographs. I found Iris Dumuk on the internet and proceeded to learn everything I could about her from testimonials and viewing her website and wedding pictures that were posted. I emailed her to inquire whether or not she would be available and interested in photographing our wedding and within 24 hours she emailed me back providing me with all the information I needed to choose her as our photographer. July 7, 2007 was one of the biggest wedding days Las Vegas had ever seen and it was being billed that way from all kinds of media sources. Our wedding was going to be very small and intimate, we only had 18 guests and everything was going to be very informal. It was very hard to find a photographer that offered a package to cover a small wedding. Iris was one of the very few photographers that advertised offering a small photography package -2 hours. One of the things that made us know we had chosen the right person to photograph our wedding was the fact that never, and I mean never did Iris make us feel that we were any less important than customers hiring her services for the largest package. In fact, Iris turned down others that asked after we had contacted her because she had committed to us. That speaks loudly, someone that could have turned us down to make more money on a larger event. For that and other facts listed below, we are very happy that we chose Iris.
Iris agreed to meet with us in December 2006 when we were in Vegas to go over all of the options at no additional charge. She came to our hotel and met with us and we found her to be so comfortable to talk with and her services were presented very professionally. Immediately we knew we had chosen the best person to photograph our special day. The day of our wedding, she was at our hotel room at the exact time she said she would be and immediately put us all at ease. We never felt like there was someone in our face with fake, poised photos. She captured every minute that was important to us and put us in control of photos we wanted. Don’t get me wrong, she took charge of taking care of all the shots she knew we would love, but she also made us feel she would take any additional shots we wanted. When we needed some direction for the next thing to do, Iris was right there to provide us with her gentle guiding direction. Everyone at the wedding thought she was so great to work with and didn’t make anyone feel uncomfortable with pictures.
The final product was more than we ever anticipated – it was great. The CD that contained all the pictures was at our doorstep two weeks after the wedding and we were so pleased. Picking out pictures for our album was so easy to do, other than the fact that we loved them all, but we chose the plan to keep all the pictures on the CD so that was a huge bonus. Although our photo album is not a huge collection of pictures, it is the perfect number of the most beautiful and professional pictures that truly captured the most memorable day of our lives.
